For most people, 2-3 full-body sessions per week is the sweet spot for building muscle, improving strength and supporting long-term health. The key is consistency and allowing at least 48 hours of recovery for muscle groups.

If someone decides to strength train more often, they should move to a split routine. A split routine means that you are training a specific area or a specific part of your body. For example, on Monday you do a lower body workout and on Tuesday you do an upper body workout. 

A key consideration is your recovery. Always allow a minimum of 48 hours between training the same muscle group to maximize growth and prevent injury.

For maximum efficiency, training each major muscle group twice per week is recommended by most health experts and has been found to be most beneficial for long term health and muscle retention.
